OUR HISTORY

The need to have a Swahili service was reached at after a few people met over a cup of tea in our house @Central Baptist Theological seminary in December of 2003. They saw the necessity of having a Swahili Fellowship in Kansas City. Little did we know that this would grow to be a church as it is now.

The first meetings took place at the First Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, but we changed the venue later on.

The Pastor, Rev. David Nzioka secured a meeting place at the Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie village who offered to support the fellowship from its inception.

On November 14, 2004, we started our services at our current location—99th and Mission rd.

On June 12, 2005 we had the first group of commissioned members of Neema Community fellowship.

We believe in the priesthood of all believers and everybody is welcome to participate.

Neema has been a vibrant church family touching the lives of people and more so those from Kenya in recent times. We worship in Swahili and English and people are blessed. In humbleness we have served the almighty God and on the same we shall continue to serve him.

All of God’s Children are welcome to worship with us.

Amani ya Bwana.
